Rock Spot Climbing is currently seeking individuals for the following positions:
Belaying is a critical skill for all positions and all applicants MUST pass a belay test at a Rock Spot Climbing location to be considered.
The Shift Supervisor at Rock Spot Climbing will oversee all aspects of the day to day operations of the gym as a supervisor on duty. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
Opening/closing the facility
Checking the facility for safety/cleanliness issues
Checking in/accepting payment from customers
Selling services, memberships, and retail items
Counting registers at the beginning and end of all shifts
Supervising and organizing all floor staff
Maintaining a safe, positive and productive atmosphere
Provide excellent customer service in person or over the phone
Conduct initial group bookings under the supervision of the group booking manager
Process daily paperwork
Be able to perform all floor staff functions
Provide input for agenda, and attend manager meetings
Other management duties as assigned (e.g., assistant retail manager, assistant marketing manager)

The Youth Program Instructors at Rock Spot Climbing will run weekly classes and special programming for youth at the facilities. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the Director of Youth Programs and the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
Maintaining a safe, positive and productive learning atmosphere
Committing to a 12 week class schedule
Interacting professionally with both parents and students
Implementing and monitoring lesson plans and curriculum
Managing the flow of activities/learning during class as well as from week to week
Teaching hard skills (belaying and knots) as well as technique on the wall
Adapting and modifying lessons based on the needs of the students
Functioning as part of a team
Being able to perform all floor staff functions
Desired Skills and Experience:
Outgoing, friendly personality
Schooling in education, recreation, or a related field
Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport
Experience working with youth of all ages

Monitoring the gym floor to ensure the safety of all customers
Cleaning tasks as necessary
Route maintenance tasks as necessary (e.g., Changing tape, tightening holds etc.)
Desired Skills and Experience:
High school Diploma or equivalent
Punctual and reliable

Yoga Instructor

The marketing assistant at Rock Spot Climbing will implement the marketing plan designed by the marketing director for an individual facility while working as the shift supervisor. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the marketing director and operations manager.
Responsibilities will include:
Maintain staff photo board
Maintain community bulletin board
Print and post announcements and advertisements throughout the facility
Shift supervisor shifts, open/close the facility.
Be able to perform all shift supervisor functions
Be able to perform all floor staff functions
Provide input for agenda of manager meetings
Other management duties as assigned

The retail manager at Rock Spot Climbing will be responsible for the organization and upkeep of the retail store, as well as overseeing the operations for the entire facility while working as the shift supervisor. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the operations manager and the retail buyer.
Responsibilities will include:
Shift supervisor shifts, open/close the facility.
Organize and maintain retail display.
Educate other staff about retail products and sales techniques.
Monitor inventory levels and prepare orders for wholesalers.
Process special order requests from customers and staff.
Restock vending machines and retail displays.
Place weekly clif bar orders.
Communicate with the retail manager at other rsc locations.
Attend trade shows.
Be able to perform all shift supervisor functions.

The Team Coach at Rock Spot Climbing will run weekly practice at our facilities as well as travel and coach at all USA Climbing competitions for the entirety of the season. Our climbing team has many strong and talented climbers who compete year round at a national level as well as many members who are new to competitive climbing. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the Director of Youth Programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Maintaining a safe, positive and productive learning atmosphere
Creating and documenting training programs and lesson plans
Explaining and demonstrating detailed technique
Providing appropriate beta to all abilities
Interacting professionally with both parents and students
Becoming certified as a USACA coach
Coaching both in the gym and at USAC competitions
Traveling to competitions
Working nights and occasional weekends
